The global market for social networks will surpass $5 billion by 2015 according to Parks Associates. The firm also stated that more than 250 million people currently play social network games every month.

On March 18th, we posted some data from Business Insights that predicted the market at $4 Billion by 2015.

According to Parks Associates, in their new report, Online Gaming: Global Outlook:

  • 19% of active gamers in the U.S. spend money on virtual items
  • Worldwide microtransaction revenues will reach $6 billion by 2015
  • Subscribers to premium online game services decreased from 35% in 2008 to 28% in 2010

According to Parks Associates, the market for casual games will reach $1 Billion by 2013.
They have Free-to-Play MMO Games at ~8.5 Million players in 2009, growing to more than 20 Million by 2013.
